Questionnaires were sent via email to 494 Wheaten-L members. List was purged of all SCWTCA and SCWTAC members, Benchmarks subscribers and Open Registry members since they were in the universe of mail survey. Surveys were not received by 105 owners due to invalid email addresses, four survey recipients did not own Wheatens, and one owner refused to participate. Therefore, 385 owners received an invitation to participate in completing the online survey. A reminder email was sent approximately one month after the original invitation to participate. In addition, a message was sent to the list serve. Two hundred Wheaten owners completed the online questionnaire giving a response rate of 52%. Information regarding the number of respondents and dogs in the survey is shown in Table 1.

The average number of Wheatens currently owned was 1, the median number of Wheatens currently owned was 1, and the number of Wheatens currently owned ranged from 1 to 10. The 350 Wheaten sample size for this survey is comprised of 308 currently owned Wheatens plus 42 deceased Wheatens. Table 2 shows the information for Wheatens included in this study. The "no data" column is for those Wheatens whose owners did not provide a response for that question.

Respondents were asked about the types of activities they participated in with their Wheatens. Respondents could choose more than one activity. Table 3 shows their responses.
